How do volunteers helps Free Range Health?

There are many ways to share your time to support our mission. If you are interested in an ongoing weekly assignment, consider our clinic greeter position. If you are interested in volunteering less often or less regularly, we can use help assembling our wellness products or making phone calls to thank donors. Of course, we can also use help with grant writing and fundraising activities. If you’ve got skills and some extra time, we’d love to hear your ideas.

How long are volunteer shifts?

A typical clinic greeter shift is 3-5 hours depending on your preference. If you come for half a clinic, it will be 3 hours. If you stay for the whole clinic, it will be 5 hours. Other volunteer activities have different time commitments. Volunteer opportunities will always include an estimated time commitment in the listing.

Do I have to be a Free Range Health patient to volunteer?

No. You do not need to be a patient to volunteer. If you are interacting with patients or the public as part of your volunteer duties, we prefer that you have some experience being treated with traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture.

How well do I have to understand technology to volunteer?

You should be comfortable with learning and using cloud-based technology. Clinic greeters will assist patients as they use our technology to register for our services and book appointments. You will also be asked to use our digital cash register to take donations and receive payments for our products. Other volunteer opportunities may use our cloud-based collaboration app to communicate and coordinate the position. Read the volunteer opportunity description to learn about specific tech skills that may be needed.

What does a typical volunteer shift look like?

A clinic volunteer shift begins when the clinic opens. You spend the shift chatting with patients while they sip their tea, assist with booking appointments, answer general questions about the organization, and sell our wellness products. You also help monitor the door to the clinic. You help keep the clinic calm and relaxing by letting patients know when to enter the clinic space. At the end of the shift, you complete a shift
